It’s with a heavy heart that I write this post. It was the one and only Mr. Zeebs’ (Evo) last show, and it was an awesome one. Craig and Stephanie invited the tip to share in their special day. The gig was a short drive into NJ but still we managed to get somewhat lost. A running joke in the band is John’s horrible navigating skills and this trip was no exception. We located the venue after a few twists and were treated to an easy load. With setup done early, we found ourselves with some time to kill. World Cup fever was in the air and we tracked down a local watering hole to suck down some suds and watch a match while grabbing a bite. Our server was more into Columbia vsGreece then pints of Guinness and our meals, but we were in good spirits and left there properly fueled for the big gig. Although we quickly regretted stuffing ourselves with burgers, fries and wings because unbeknownst to us, Craig and Stephanie are cross fitters. And being cross fitters they had plenty of cross fitter friends in attendance. This made for one impressive dance floor. Everyone is fit and toned and there we are front and center trying to suck in our guts.
We got to rocking the first set and the dance floor stayed packed all night. The highlights included an awesome sung maid of honor speech, special guest vocals by Stephanie’s aunt, and das booooooot. That’s right das boot showed up courtesy of an amputee guest who was passing around his prosthetic so others could drink beer from it. The pic isn’t great but if you try you can make it out
