This one time at band camp Jr and Tanya got married. What a wedding these two had at Camp Pontiac in Copake, NY. The Just the Tip Band was welcomed in as part of the family and we were able to celebrate right alongside the newlyweds. Our good friends Tanya and JR tied the knot in a rustic setting in upstate New York. The ceremony was very elegant and framed up with along the tree line in an open field. JR’s good friend and band mate Hunter officiated and provided a heart felt and at times hilarious service. We provided some assistance with ceremony music via the ipod with some great blue grass influenced arrangements of Mr. Brightside, Umbrella, and Song of Fire and Ice. Tanya walked down the aisle to Away my Soul by Mumford and Son. We had Just the Tip Acoustic playing for cocktail hour which ended up being closer to cocktail two hour. The guests and newly weds were in high spirits when it was time to move in to the reception hall where the full Just the Tip Band was set up and ready to rock. JR and Tanya shared their first dance to “Thank You” by Led Zepplin. The band loves playing this tune. The parent dances were to Sweet Child o Mine by Guns n Rose and In My Life by the Beatles. Since Tanya and JR happened to meet on the 21st of September, we had to include September by Earth Wind and Fire in our set. That was a new one for us bust has now been in every setlist after. Since the couple had taken over the camp and we the band were staying over and in general having an awesome time, the party ran wayyyyyy late. I think we shut it down around 3AM. I use shut it down loosely. We packed up the gear and then helped our selves to the non floated keg which led to a late night dip in the lake before retiring to our bunk to grab some sleep. What a night, what a wedding.
